Has
it really been almost 20 years since we made the Popple puppets for Shelley
Duvall's TV special introducing the characters? Popples are colorful balls of
fur that can hide in their own kangaroo-like pouches on their backs. For this
production, sponsored by Mattel Toys and American Greetings, we produced two
puppets of each of the nine characters: one a hand and rod puppet, the other
a marionette.
